Today: Stop and Smell the Herbs
Get your nose out of that garden book and into the real thing.
As part of the Garden Conservancy's Open Days campaign, sculptor
David Hayes opens his private garden to you today from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m. Hayes, whose work is found in numerous public and private
collections in this country and in Europe, displays his metal
pieces in an old orchard, by a pond and a hayfield, and behind
his house. They are all in or near informal gardens of herbs,
wildflowers, ferns, roses, annuals, perennials, and vegetables.
The farm is at 905 South Street, Coventry. There is a $4 donation.
